> History #195: It's A-MAZE-ing!!!
This is the very first game I made in Flash. I was sooooo excited. How cool is THIS... "That's it", (I thought to myself), "I'm going to be a big time game maker kinda guy.".

This is, until I found out that I would have to put a LOT more work into learning ALL of the code, putting hours into creating a variety of interesting and fun levels, taking months to put it together, and then FINALLY throwing it out there to see if maybe three people would possibly buy it out of the kindness of their hearts.

I know quite a few people that went into the Video Game biz. All of them dumped that career choice after awhile and are now either working in software development or in multimedia design instead.

It is a TOUGH business to get into if you want to actually make a living at it and it is REAL easy to spend a shitload of time trying to create an AMAZING new game only to have it either FLOP or have another company come out with a game EXACTLY like it just a few weeks before yours. I don't EVEN want to begin with all the hassles you get from publishers and all the business type of bullshit that goes along with it.

Screw that. I think I'll just stick to making dumb little games just for fun.

Play around with my way-bad Maze game below. Use the arrow keys to move the dude around. WATCH OUT: after about 30 seconds, your fingers want to fall off and it is PAINFUL. Not a good game by any means. In fact, when you DO finally get to the Exit, there is absolutely no fanfare whatsoever. Oh well, what do you expect for my first one. Again, I had big dreams for it, but after playing around with it for about 2 hours, I got bored and tossed to the island of lost toys.
