> History #168: "Eternity's End" in 3-D!!!
I LOVE 3-D!!! Yes, it's true. I love it... love it... love it. Originally, when I started college, I was signed up as a Computer Programming Engineer or something stupid like that because I thought I would be able to go through and program cool 3-D things.

I found out QUICKLY, that this was not the case at all. So I switched majors over to Graphic/Multimedia Design because I realized that I would probably kill myself if I just wrote code all day and didn't get be creative at all.

When I was a Junior, I FINALLY got to take a 3-D class. I was absolutely t-h-r-i-l-l-e-d and that's no s-h-i-t b-i-t-c-h.

We got to use a program called Strata Studio Pro. I believe the guys who made Myst used this. Like always, I became slightly obsessed with the program. The teacher would be talking about how to make little circles and I was off putting together little world's already.

Below is the VERY first 3-D animation I made in school. We had to do some "Mobile" type of thing, so I decided to make a ClockMobile. Just by chance, my buddy who was going to school as a classical guitarist, decided he REALLY wanted to do music for video games and animation*, so he ended up doing scoring ALL of my animations (which kicked tasty ass – nothing better than some sexy soundtrack action going on).

So, dim the lights, get out your popcorn, and watch time go by. Tick.. tick... tick...

* He is now making a living with a career in 3-D Modelling and Animation. He is DAMN GOOD at it too. Architectural models, video games, and all that stuff. Isn't that a hoot. From classical guitar to uber-nerd. And to think... sniff... sniff... if it wasn't for me he would probably be making a shit-load of money playing guitar in front of thousands of applauding people instead of sitting for hours and hours in front of a computer.
